GOOD CARRYING RECORDS A friendly dial among members of ■the Wanganui Harbour Board after a recent. meeting turned to the carrying capacity of land. The Mayor, Mr I lope. Gibbons, stated that the other day hr asked a Hawke’s Bay fanner how lie was getting on. and the latter assured him that lie was doing all right and that he had taken 11,000 sheep off 1.000 acres for the year, which is not a had record, considering Hawks's Bay is generally associated with a scarcity of feed owing to dry weather. Mr Hope Gihbens added 'tliat on his farm at Levin 1m took 1700 fat lambs off 70 acres frathe year.
