COOD WORK BEING DONE The Ist Battalion Nelson.. Marlborough and West Coast Regiment, commanded by Lieut.-Cob C. G. Butcher, i utored Camp at Tapaweva for their annual training on the 2nd inst. Military Secretary. A large recreation marquee has been provided where nightly concerts, boxing tourneys, community singing, and games are in full swing from tea-time until "Lust Post."

To-night a concert is being given en tirely by the officers, the present mili lory system making for more comrade ship and community feeling between of floors and men.

On Sunday, Church parade will bo held in the morning, and from 1.30 p.m. until 5 p.m. 'he (amp will be opened to visitors, and it is anticipated that large numbers will lake this opportunity of scemc tlie hoys in camp. The Battalion Band is doing good work from the point of view of harmony, tluir bright tunes being heard soo'illy alter "Reveille." aid throughout each evening.

The Regimental machine gun competition will be held on Sunday afternoon when other teams from Blenheim and elsewhere will compete with the Battalion Mac-hire Dun Platoon. The latter is a particularly efficient unit in headquarters wing, sections being commanded by Lieut. J. Coote and Lieut. H. J. Stringer.

The Battalion Signals under Lieut. Hani'si! l are getting interesting training which is further enhanced by the fact that a Staff Sergt.Major on loan from the British Army Signals is assisting with the training.

A dance is being held in the hall this evening and on Saturday evening. Mr H. G. Berryman has invited the officers of the Regiment to a dance at his home on Mondav evening .and Mrs Hudson very kindly made her house open to officers, which hospitality is iimich appreciated.
