IMPORT ANT NON -INTERFER AB LE TEST’S CONDUCI’ED BY A NEW ZEALANDER (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) LONDON, Oct, 29 0 Captain Roberts, a New Zealander, in the presence of research officers of the Air Force, conducted important tos's which he believes prove that he has found the secret of non-ii'.terferable wireless. The tests took the form oT a competition between Captain Roberts’ and the Air Force experts’ apparatus. Captain Robert* declared: “I propose using my own wierless transmitter to fight red or green lights. I will light them singly or together, as you command. Then you fix up your transmitter and do your utmost to interfere.” Captain Roberts, as ordered, wirelessly lighted first one and then the other, then both lamps. Then the Air Force experts' transmitter, five times the strength of Captain Roberts's, buzzed and ‘crackled in the attempt to jamb Captain Roberts’s signals. Nevertheless, Captain. Roberts completely controlled the lights. At the conclusion of the tests Captain Roberts pointed out that this was identical with the method which would be used for wirelessly controlling a torpedo or any other machine. The Daily Express says that Air Force officials, who in the .first instance were incredulous at their inability to interfere with Captain Roberts's transmission, are most impressed and propose to undertake further tests.
