MINISTERS SEEKING A COM
PROMISE

LONDON, July 20,
The Daily Express says Ministers are seeking a compromise on the cruiser question and probably an agreement will be reached without resignations. The Committee of the’ Cabinet suggests a saving which will eventually he at least £4,000,000 a year, by reducing the pay of future recruits for the army to the extent i>f 20 per cent., 1 the navy 15 per cent., and the air force 10 per cent.
