At the Supreme Court John George Burgess. 61, builder, for bigamy, was sentenced to three months’ hard labour. The Crown stated that the case had few redeeming features. It was curious that accused’s wife Jived only a short distance from where Burgess and the other woman had lived. , CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. In the Supreme Court prisoners were sentenced—Robert Abercrombie Brown, theft of moneys from employer, threeyears’ hard Jaboucp-; Matilda Ewing, 41, married, theft of an overcoat, probation, provided she goes to an Army home; Erie James Richardson, 16, huiglarv, three years in Borstal Institute.
