The recent press reports regarding projected petroleum spirits lmlk installations in Australasia give further evidence of the increasing influence of motor transport in our commercial life
Tho bulk system of distributing petroleum spirits is by no means new to tlie Antipodes, as the British Imperial Company Ltd. introduced years ago the system in which their American comptetitors are now interesting themselves.. In 1001 the Shell ('ompanv inaugurated the bulk method of* importation and distribution in Australia, and since this time development has been rapid, involving the British company in an expenditure to date of nearly £l, 500,000. In addition to the “Shell” Company’s existing bulk installations in Sydney, ■Melbourne, and Adelaide, where over 1000 men are regularly employed, this Company has now under construction new seaport installations at Brisbane, Fremantle, and Wellington/
