GIRLS’ COLLEGE SPORTS GROUND

WORK TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY It will be /omoinbored that some mouths ago an area of nearly two acres in Waimea Read was purchased mainly by the efforts of the Old Girls and parents of present girls. We are pleased tn learn that recently the Governors have purchased the cottage property (on \\aimeu Road side) which indented and to a certain extent marred the ground, so that now the College owns the strip fro n Waimea Road to Kawhai Street. !t has been owing to the difficulty of securing the above cottage property, the possession of which materially modified the piatis for laying out the ground, that so far work on the tennis courts has been held up. Now. however, work cn the latter will be begun as soon as the plans are complete. The matter of a swimming bath for the girls is also engaging attention. It is recognised that such facilities are of great value.
