In the House of Jtepresentat ives the Postmaster-General stated that on 30th May 61,518 listening-in licenses had been granted in the Commonwealth, of which 33,964 were rn New South Wales. The total amount of license tees collected was £113.658. The sum paid to the broadcasting companies ranged from £4220 in Perth to £34,628 in Sydney. The report of the Postal Department for the year ended 30th June. 1924 tables show that the operations of the department resulted in a profit of £364.352, which is oevr a million less than the previous year.
