CANTERBURY MARKETS (United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 9. It is understood that, inquiries regarding further supplies of wheat have been made in Canada and Australia. The latter country’s price is about the world's parity, but its proximity to the Dominion gives it an advantage in tlie matter of lower quotations. Fowl wheat has firmed, and is quoted between merchants at. 7/- f.0.b., sacks extra. This is about equivalent to the milling price to fanners, as through store charges have to be allowed for.

The potato market is very dull, and quotations to farmers are from £3 5s to £3 10s per ton on trucks. At this price, few are offering. There was no boat for Auckland last week, and the Kauri and Wingatui, now about to sail, are taking only 3000 to 3500 sacks. Digging is now well on towards completion. Oats are holding recent prices and business has passed at 4/6 per bushel for A Cartons, and 4/2 for B’s. The seed market is lifeless.

WELLINGTON MARKETS The Wellington Fruitgrokers report that there is a slight improvement in tlie market, as less black spot fruit has come to hand during the last- few days.
