EMPIRE THEATRE “CHU CHIN" CIIOW”
“Chu Chin Chow" promises to be a record picture in many respects. Betty Blythe and Herbert Langley .are the two stars, and they arc supported by a strong British cast. But, in audition, the East has been ransacked for wonder tul types. The forty thieves are Tar-lar-Mongolians, superb horsemen, wild as th t . hinterland of 'libel from whiea they come, and as their Arabian hoi.- -v Other types are Ethiopians from Me borders of Abvsiimia, Kalmucks. Arabs, Circassians, Kurds and Soudanese Nogroes. The East has also contributed pedigree, thoroughbred dromedaries and camels, elephants, lions and other animals. secured bv John Ilagenbeck, who is file Universal wild animal provider. Much of the interior work lias been shot in the desert. Some of the sets are larger than St. Paul’s Cathedral. Acres of Gaghdad have been reproduced, and many other sets too large to be accommodated in anv interior studio.
