(Uuuort Press Association.) GISBORNE, Dec. 27. Three calls for labour for loading the meat steamer ‘Cumberland were made this morning, without response. It is understood that tine refusal of the ivatcrsidcrsTo accept engagement is intended as a protest against the terms of the new award, which provided for hourly payment instead of contracts.
