A MERRY CHRISTMAS

(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian aud N.Z. Cable Association)

PARIS, Dec. 25

It was agreed that Christmas was the gayest in tho French capital since the war. Tho perfect weather aided celebrants, who crowded all places of amusement, and in the restaurants champagne flowed as never before, although 3CC francs, a bottle was tho usual price. The boulevards were crowded by Americans. Englishmen, Germans, Scandinavians and other foreigners. It had been feared Comunists would organise a protest against the display of luxury but nothing transpired. Richer places were elaborately protected by the police.
