CROPLEY COMMISSION

Alderman Walker was examined at length regarding the drawing of a number of cheques fund paying away considerable sums of money. He answered questions repeatedly by saying that he could not remember and stated that his books regarding the transactions had been inadvertently burned by his wife when destroying rubbish.
