PEACE NECOTIATIONS

Reports are current of peace negotiations between Spain and the Riffs for a settlement of the Morocco question. The Sunday Times Paris correspondent says that the Riff chief's terms include a war .Indemnity of approximately £300,000; the surrender of twelve aeroplanes, a battery of field guns, and 10,000 rifles. Spanish trcops must evacuate all territory occupied and withdraw -from Ceuta and Melilla. The Spaniards will endeavour to secure better terms MADRID, Nov. 22. An official communique states that military operations in .Morocco were hampered by bad weather and floods. .Military camps were damaged. Working parties are busy maintaining the lines of communication. I'rimo De Rivera is unable to get in touch with Tetuan. The Port of Ceuta is cut off. Wireless calls for assistance have been received from skipping. Quantities of supplies were washed away at Melilla, and several sailing vessels were sunk outside the port. General Federico Berengiier was wounded the moment he took over command front Serrano l . One lieutenant-colonel was killed and two wounded in addition to n number of officers and soldiers, mostly of the Native Legion.
