GARDEN PARTY

BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL PIANO FUND On Saturday afternoon a garden party was held at the residence of Mi's Harold Wood, the object being to raise funds for the purchase of a piano for the primary department of the Nelson Baptist Sunday School. The stalls were laden with a large variety of fancy work, etc., and were in charge of the following ladies:— ; f Work stall, Mesdames E. G. and H. Wood and Miss Child. Produce, Mrs Vercoe and Miss Wood. Sweets, Mrs Cunningham and Miss Mills.

Cakes, Mesdames Cullen, Sharp, and Simpson. Miscellaneous, Misses Clieel and J. Wood. ,

Tea rooms, Mesdames Scott, Dee, and Thomson, and Miss Witney. Strawberries and cream, Misses Dee and Trussing. ' -i The stall holders were assisted by a number of young ladies ,and were kept busy, tire result of the function being satisfactory from a financial standpoint* it also providing an opportunity for a pleasant social afternoon. .The committee tender their thanks to the car-own-ers for conveying to and from the ground a large number of ladies, who, owing to the distance from the town, Would otherwise have been unable to attend the function. Mr S. Jennens supplied a choice selection of music.
