LONDON WOOL SALES

LONDON, Oct. 2.
At the wool sales 11,237 bales were offered. There was a steady demand for the home trade with firm prices. Merinos and . medium greasy were in large supply and sold rather quietly, with frequent withdrawals. Lots of scou.reds bad slow competition.
WOOL SALES
Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London office : “The following prices arc current for average farmers’ lots at the sales now proceeding: Greasy merinos, 34(1: to 37d, scoured, 5/sd, greasy super halfbreds, 565, 30d to 35d ; fine, 50/565, '26d to 31d;-halfbreds, 48/50s, 23d to 26d; fine crossbreds, 46/48s, 22d to 24d; medium, 44/465, 20d to 22d; coarse, 40/445, 19d to 21d; low, 36/40s, 19d to 20d; crossbred pieces, 17d to 19d; bellies, 17d to 18d; locks, lid to 12d. The auctions are‘proceeding with great spirit and catalogues are being well cleared.
