LONDON, Sept. 12 Peacock, the New Zealander, reached the fifth round in the South of England lawn tennis championship at Eastbourne, when he was defeated by Crolerees 6 1, 6—3.
AMERICA RETAINS DAVIS CUP The Davis Cup Doubles w'ere played in perfect sunny weather, the only handicap being a strong cross-court wind. There was a large attendance. , NEW YORK, Sept. 12. In the Davis Cup doubles, Tilden and Johnston beat Patterson and Wood s—', 6—3, 6—4, 6—l. America retains the cup. ______
