TRAGEDY NARROWLY AVERTED
THREE MEN HANGING IN SPACE
SUSPENDED FOR SIX HOURS

The Daily Express Geneva correspondent says three young Italians corded together, without a guide, fell three hundred feet when near the 11,420 feet summit of “Tlie Grand Deitil,” one of the .most famous peaks on Mont Blanc range. The cox.d struck an overhanging rock, miraculously supporting them as they hung helplessly in space over a glacier two thousand feet below. Tlie accident was witnessed through telescopes from Chamonix and the Alpinists were rescued after hanging six hours, C-; e with a. broken leg, the second half mad with pant from internal injuries, and lire third with slight wounds.
