RED RIBBON FAIR

SALVATION ARMY SELF-DENIAL EFFORT

The Red Ribbon Fair was continued at the Marsden Church House last evening, when the building presented a very attractive appearance, the coloured electric ligTits making a splendid effect. In spite of the wet weather there was a fair attendance of the public and tho stallholders and those in of the side shows had a busy time. There is a particularly good display of produce and ornamental and other articles, which offer a wide range of selection. Tho musical programme last- evening was contributed to by well-known local amateurs, whose selections met with warm approval. The Fair will be continued this evening and to-morrow afternoon and evening- . . This afternoon a musical programme was given by the pupils of 'Mr John Tait; and they will aLso be responsible for the programme to-morrow afternoon. This evening Vitetta Bros, orchestra will supply the programme; and to-morrow evening the Regimental Band will be in attendance. The Fair opens at 2 o'clock in the afternoon ancl 7 o-'clock in tho evening. > Messrs Francois, Hethenngton and Hart are in charge of tho fresh fo’od stall; Mesdames Hetherington and Perrie of the pickle and jam stall; and the plain and fancy stall is in charge of Mesdames Grimmet, Henman and Goodman.
