The/ British Government recently allotted £200,000 for the purpose of loans to co-operative enterprises engaged in the preparation of marketing agricultural product!; The conference on agricultural cooperation in the Empire at Wembley passed a resolution, on the motion of Sir James Allen,’, advocating facilitation of more direct methods of bargaining between co-operative producers and consumers, and also agricultural co-opera-tives in an endeavour to establish closer inter-trado relations between consumers and wholesale societies. p- y% The Canadian Chamber of Commerce passed a resolution that the time had arrived to take vigorous steps to consolidate the trade interests of the Empire for which a conference of all associations and manufacturers in the-Em-pire should be arranged. v " Mr Thomas announced in the House of Commons that tlio High Commissioners for the Dominions and India would take precedence immediately after British and Dominion Cabinet Ministers on ceremonial occasions, but when no British or Dominion Cabinet Ministers were present the High Commissioners would take precedence immediately after that accorded to Secretaries of State.
