ACCIDENT ON MT. ARTHUR TRACK

YOUNG man 11A8 a leg broken

Mr N. McClellan, of the C'awthron Institute staff, met with an unfortunate accident- on Ml. Arthur track on Sunday, whereby his left leg was broken jusi above. Hie ankle. Mr McClellan, in company with Mr Tiller, had been spending a few days on Mt. Arthur, and when returning met some cattle on the track. Nui wishing to drive them down the steep bank, Mr McClellan and his companion endeavoured to* turn them, and in doing so Mr McClellan slipped and fell uv.r the bank, sustaining the injury above-mentioned. Mr H. Cheek and a party were also on the track at the time and gave every possible assistance. A pack horse was obtained from Mr Salisbury's. on which the injured man was conveyed lo the foot of the mountain, from where he was taken to town in a motor car. Mr McClellan is now a patient at To Rangi private hospital.
