VISIT OF BORIS KOSTICH

Advice lias been received from Wellington that Mr Kostich will arrive there from Australia on the 19th inst. and a tentative programme lias been drawn up, which will, make the probable visit oi this chess master to Nelson take place about the middle of August.

He will stay in Nelson for not more than three days, and will give a simultaneous display on one evening, playing as many opponents as can be got together to meet him, and on another evening will give a lecture on modern ideas and developments of the game. His recent visit to Australia has been most successful in every way, and or liis final appearance in Sydney he played 60 opponents simultaneously, winning from 42 and drawing against the remainder, making no less than 1500 moves in four hours.

It, is hoped that a special eltort will be made by all chess players in the district- to avail themselves of this unique opportunity to meet so fine a player. The final details of this visit wiJJ be advertised as soon as particulars are available.
