A HUSBAND KILLED
WIDOW AWARDED £2(300 DAMAGES (United Press Association.) HAMILTON, This Day. In the Supreme Court Lucy Jenkis, widow, of Manunui, claimed £2500 dam ages from the vPukeweka Sawmill Coy. for the loss of her husband, who was killed while working on a locomotive belonging to the company. Evidence was given that a log on the side of the line telescoped the locomotive and kilted claimant’s husband. The jury awarded £2OOO, one-third to go to the widow and two-thirds, to the children.
