EMPIRE TO-NIGHT “BELL BOY 13“ i Disinherited by his uncle because ho, has tried to elope with Kitty Clyde, an actress, and thrown down bv Killj because his uncle has refused consent to their marriage, Harry Elrod finds himself stranded in a big hotel with a broken heart and fifteen cents in his pocket. Ho takes the advice of tho fust bell boy, who says that his job with thirty a month; tips arid a free place to eat and sleep” suits him, and decides to try bell hopping. Within half an hour he succeeds in tangling the affairs of everyone around him. When he pages “Mr Haskell,” whom he finds in the dining room with Kitty, ho'promptly preempts that worthy’s seat and is dragged out of the, dining room by t ie wrathful head waiter. His uncle at rives on the scene and Harry once more gets in bad by getting his uncle first into Kitty’s room and then into the room of another strange woman. Hear ing sounds of endearment coming out ot Kitty’s room, Harry tries to peep into the keyhole, is discovered by Ins; uncle, who also succumbs to curiosity as soon as “Bell Boy 13“ is out of the way and who in turn-is discovered by a sour faced spinster. Uncle is so humiliated that he buys the hotel for the pleasure ol firing his nmhew, whereupon Harry organises a strike of all the hotel employees with such effect that his uncle agrees to let him marry Kitty, llaiiy calls off the strike and terminates his career as a bell bop by blocking the traffic in the hotel lobby as he rapturously embraces Kitty.
