EASTBOURNE MURDER
VICTIM IDENTIFIED

Detectives investigating; the Eastbourne horror during the night called up several vessels bound for south Africa, in consequence of information that. Miss Kayo told a friend at the end of March that she would soon be marrying and going to Africa. She was fair, with'bobbed liair, and was last seen in the bungalow on 12th April- Apparently the inquiries were result-less, because after all day long inquiries, the police announced they were satisfied the victim was Kaye, whoso occupation was a book-keeper. The police are digging up the bungalow garden, in the hope of discovering the victim’s missing head. There is no trace yet of the darkhaired woman who also visited the bungalow. Patrick Mahon, the detained man, is known to have a wife, for whom the police are seeking. LONDON, May 6. The Daily Express says that Air De Beilbv, a veterinary surgeon at Hall.sham, near Eastbourne, says., tlio dead woman’s correct name was Emily Bc-ilby Kaye. She was his cousin, and her parents died when she. was a child. Emily spent a holiday of three weeks in August with Beilby and his wile, and also wrote frequently. Beilby was surprised to receive a letter three weeks ago, saying she was engaged and intended to be married at Capetown, where her fiance had obtained a post. Beilby wrote immediately asking her to visit him before her departure, .but received no reply. DEFINITE CHARGE AGAINST DETAINED MAN LONDON, May G Events are moving rapidly in connection with the Eastbourne bungalow mystery. Detectives this evening took Malion to Eastbourne where they made a definite charge. The police say the victim was aged 28 and had been living at a woman’s club in West London. She was identified by moans of a skirt found in the bungalow. Club mates say that Kaye was a pretty, sweet-natured girl, wildly happy over her prospective marriage. She was never visited by men. Tennis was her chief hobby. A motor driver and other people of Eastbourne are emphatic that there was a second dark woman whose soubriquet was “the Countess.” Mahon’s mother is living at Liverpool. Mahon has been living with'his wife and daughter at Richmond. He is an Irishman and a well-known member of the Mid-Surrey Bowling Club. He was playing at the dub on Thursday in his usually good spirits, and seemed very happy.
