COLLEGE V. STOKE

This match was played last Saturday, College winning by an innings and 77 runs in tho one aiternoon. Stoko batted first but failed badly against the bowling of the two howmans; Trevella, 18, was the only one to reach double figures, batting brightly. College opened with Saxon and Airey, hut Airey was bowled at 16 and 3 wore down for 57. Biggar find Saxon, however, took the score to 1/3, ana the innings was then declared closed. Saxon made a chanceless 100, but then hand an escape in' tho longfield when his century was passed. Biggar played •a very solid innings without a chance. "Stoke commenced their second innings at 5 o’clock, with Langbein and Gib]in, the latter being bowled for a duck when the score was 2. Lee and Langheili carried the score to 30, • when Langbein was caught in the slips. Jhe light by now was very bad, but*Stoko, not wanting to play on the following Saturday continued their innings, which closed for 61. Ten men batted in the. first innings, and eight in (he second.
