Mr F. D. Hoten, the newly appointed Methodist Home Missionary for Wakefield, arrived in Nelson this morning. Mr and Mrs C. W. Sole of Stratford, who arc visiting Nelson, are the guests of their daughter, Mrs L. W. Davies of 26 Brook Street, Nelson. Mr H M. Field, who has been on a health recruiting visit to the cold lakes for the past few mouths, has returned to Nelson, having benefited much by the change.
\ Tiinaru Press Association telegram reports the death of Mr John Scott Rutherford, of Opawn Estate, Albury, •ived 79 years Deceased arrived in the Dominion hi 1860 and had been a resident of South Canterbury since 18(o.
