VICE-CONSUL’S SUICIDE
FORMERLY STATIONED AT AUCKLAND

SAN FRANCISCO, April 7
According to a telegram front Fessenden, North Dakota, United States, Vice-Consul Richardson formerly of Auckland, committed suicide on a train on route to Washington, where he planned to take civil service examinations. Relatives declared that they believe lie war- temporarily deranged through overstudy. The body has been shipped to bis parents at Ban Francisco.
FOUL FLAY SUSPECTED

Tn lucid moments before his death Mr Richardson declared that lie had been drugged. Police who investigated the case believe that he has somehow been the victim of foul play, but expect- great difficulty in proving this in view of the deceased’s condition.
