Late yesterday William Frederick Ward, aged 48, married, employed at a ciairy factory, was returning home from work at Waiareka Junction when he was overtaken by a, motor car driven by Walter Don,' a farmer. The car struck the bicycle ridden by Ward who was hurled several yards and suffered severe injuries, including a fracture of the base of the skull. He was unconscious when brought in to the Oamaru hospital. His condition is serious.
