NELSON CHESS CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING

As notilied in another column, the annual meeting of the Nelson Chess Club has been arranged for Wednesday next, at 7.30, in Benyon’s Marble Bar. which is the usual meeting place, and as several important matters will come up for discussion a full attendance of members and friends is hoped for. Several years ago the chess championship tourney of New Zealand, was held in Nelson, and if the necessary support is forthcoming it may be possible to again hold it in Nelson next Christmas. The matter of entering for the next telegraphic club championship will also be discussed. At the close of the. business meeting a sides match will be played, a form of competition that has always been popular. Anyone interested In ♦he game is cordially invited to attend.
