(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Reuter’s Telegrams). LONDON, September 8 The Trades Union Congress has appointed Mr Fred Bramley General Secretary. He has been assistant secretary to Congress for three years. The Congress passed a resolution appealing to Franco Belgian workers to recognise tha* the continued occupation of the Ruhr was fomenting national hatred and nullifying life purpose for which twenty million casualties were endured in the war. The Congress, by card vote, carried by 2.801,003 ot 655.000 (he National Union of Railwayman’s resolution lecnmmending organised workers to demand a six hours' vvorkimr dav. LONDON, Sent. 8. ’The Trades Union Congress, by three, million votes to 800.000, resolved to continue the publication of the Daily Herald at least till the end of the year, if £12,500 is raised before 13th September.
