RUGBY WANDERERS WIN MANOY CUP WANDERERS 28 v. GOLDEN BAY b (From Our Own Correspondent). A large crowd of .spectators congregated at the Cricket (irouud on Saturday, lo witness the champion of champions match, between Wanderers and Golden P.ay, for Ihe Manny Cup. The Inane team was in good form but then substantial win of Idti points to o was probably not anticipated even by the Blacks'' keenest supporters. The match was neither fast nor spectacular, but u.e Wanderers on several occasions got m seine realiv good passes. During (lie first hall Blacks (\\ audort rs) kept. Golden Jsav (lieds) on the defensive and yave the latter little chance of scoring. Early in the game J. Flolyoake taking a pass from I'apps got through and scored tor lllacks. No goal resulted. This was soon followed bv J. Falconer crossing Rods' geal line .and scoring. N flolyoake failed to convert. Cor a time play I),'i ante general. Reds ' making several unsuccessful attempts to break through' Llacks' defence. dust on half-time J. Flolyoake made a good bid lo score but got into touch near the corner peg. Score 6—o for Wanderers. In the second speil i'apps (Blacks) scored a fry and convened within a few minutes of the commencement. This was followed up by a good passing bout. ,). Hnlyoake netting over Rods goal line and scoring. -No goal.
