BEEF PRICES?

(To the Editor.]

Sir, —In .your last evening’s issue you give publicity to a rather amusing price list of beef, said to haye been published by a Wanganui local butchery firm, from which it would appear that certain joints are practically given away; at any rate, ridiculously low prices aro asked. If this meets the eve of the local butcher referred to, I “will gladly become a customer and pay postage on the parcels sent over. I can’t conceive that brisket of beef, if not putrid, could be sold, at a profit, at Id per lb.—l am, etc., 1 PATERFAMILIAS.
