There was a large.yarding of>beef today at the Addington yards, and a small one of fat sheep. Store Sheep.—Quito two-thirds Yf the yarding were hoggets, and‘there was an excellent sale for these, also ■ for ewes, and wethers. Values wore.-5 and 8toothca* eves, 30s 7d; good aged ewes, 26s Sd to 28s 6d ; inferior aged ewes, Lbs 10d to 225; good crossbred awe hoggets, 26s to 26s 9d ; cull and inferior ewe hoggets, 19s 9d to 225; good wether hoggets, 22s 4d to 23s sd; ordmmy, 20s 6d'to 225; cull and inferior, 16/8 to 18/6; good forward 4 and 6-toOth wethers, 31s 3d to 325; ordinary, 27s 6d to 28s 4d; cull and infer, w wethers ,18s to 25s 6d. Three hundred odd fat lambs came forward. They were a poor lot, and went to freezers at recent- per lb values. Fat Sheep.—Some prime sheep came forward, and there was an Unproved market for well-finished sorts. Fat Cattle.—44s were yarded, including 55 from the North Island and two trucks from Otago. There , was an casing of 20s per head. Average beef made from 27s 6d to 31s per 1001 h. Extra, prime steers realised £ls to £l6 10s. ai.d a few pens of special quality £l9 15s prime £ll 5.s to £l4. medium £8 10s to £ll, inferior £6 10s to £8 7s 6d. Extra prime heifers £lO 17s 6d, prime. £7 10s to £9 10s, medium £4 10s to £7 ss. Extra prime cows £lO 7s 6d, prime £6 5s to £9, ordinary £4'lss to £6 2s 6d.
Vealers. —Tlio offering was- not sufficient to meet the demand and there was a distinct improvement, in prices. Runners made £5 15s, good vealers £2 12s 6d to £5, fair £2 to £2 10s. Store Cattle.—There was quite a good sale for attractive lines of steers, 3£ to 4-year-old steers made £6 15s to £7" 2s, to 3-year £4 10s to £5 12s 6d. yearlings £1 to £1 ss. Tvvo-vear-old heifers £2 10s' to £3, yearlings £1 2s 6d' to £T'ss»
Dairy Cows.—A poor lot came forward. Extra good springers made £ll to £l7, third, fourth, and fifth cal vers £5 4s to £9. springing heifers £4 to £8 10s. inferior cows £1 to £1 10s.
'Eat. Pigs.—. A short yarding and jump up in pork values. Choppers made £4 5s to £8 10s, light haconers £3 15s to £4 ss, heavy £4 10s to £5 5s (average price per lh, fad to 7id), light porkers 40s to 47s 6d, heavy 55s to 67s (average price per lh 9d to lOd). Store Pigs.—A small entry came forward, and met with a very fair demand. Weaners made 10s to 15s, extra good weaners 17s fad, slips 18s to 265, medium stores 28s to 335, large stores £2 fas.
