• ■ NELSON CLUB The Nelson Bowling Club were to have closed their present green tomorrow, but in view of tlie sculling championship, tlie last game on—the old green in Selwyn Place Tv ill be played on stli May, ‘when it is hoped to have a big “filial.” The green will afterwards he taken over by the Diocesan Trust Board, and the Nelson Bowling Club will then make ils new home at the now green in Examiner Street.
WAKEFIELD CLUB
On Saturday afternoon fhe Wakefield Club held its closing day and invited the several clubs to assist, 'twelve rinks altogether participated and a vorv pleasant'•afternoon was spent. A town v. country game was played, the former winning by 123 to hi). One Richmond rink played for town to even up the sides. The results were (town rinks first): Newport, Patterson, Tapps, Adams (s) 17: Kelly, Haycock, Cross, Poole (s) IS. Boon. 'Bromiley, Moves, Stiles (s) 20; Baft. Shut tie worth, N. Win, H. Tunnieliir 10. Egglestone, C. Lea per, Betts, Clayden •20; iMansou, Bullard, Coleman Li.’ . , Stewart, Wnstney, Edwards, ('alley 21: Poole, Ricketts, Arnold, Cliing 25. Craighead, H. Baigent. Harrison, Graham 22; Thomas, Win, Norris, Goodman 13. Eagles, Hansen. Kirigsland, Wilkinson 23; Russell, Clayden, Lewis, Stebbings 10. Tlie afternoon was a very pleasant one and there was the customary Wakefield hospitality. At the conclusion, thanks were expressed by Mr C. Lea per (Nelson Club), E. J. Thomas (Richmond Club) and responded to by Mr N. Win (Wakefield Club). Cheers were given the ladies.
