RUGBY FOOTBALL
The annual meeting of the Motueka Rugby Sub-Union was held in Jaqucs's rooms on Friday last. The President Mr 11. Manoy occupied the chair. All clubs were fully represented with the exception of Dovcdale. Officers and delegates present, were :—Mr G. W. Boundy, vice president; Mr 11. P>. McGlashcn, secretary; Messrs A. Falconer, N. Howling, J. Inglis, 11. Young, J. 0. Smith, S.C . Smith, F. Knapp, and S. E. Sibson, delegates. An apology was received from Mr A. Askew for being unable to attend the meeting. ?
The sub-union balance sheet anil that of the benefit fund were read and adopted. Both these statements showed the Motueka branch to be in a sound financial position. Officers were elected for the ensuing year as follows:—President, Mr H, Manoy (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs A. Askew, G. W. Boundy, and S. E. Sibson (re-elected); secretary, Mr H. 1>- McGlashcn (re-elected); treasurer, Mr J. G. Smith ; auditors, Messrs S. E. Sibson and F. Knapp; club delegates, Messrs Jas. Inglis and If. Young, "Tikakoa's" ; N. Rowling and A. Falconer, "Wanderers" ; F. Knapp, S. Smith, "Huias"; and A. Kenyon, "Dovcdale. Fixtures Committee, Messrs N. Rowling. J. Inglis and F. Knapp. Emergency ommittee, President, A. Falconer and G. W. Boundy. Senior selection committee, Mr G. *W. Boundy. It was decided to defer the election of the other two members of the committee until the next meeting of the sub-Union. It was resolved that the selection committee also carry out. the duties of Permit Committee. ! Junior selection committee, Messrs E. Reid, N. Rowling and A. Kenyon. Delegates lo the Motueka and Golden Bay Rugby Union, Messrs G. W. Boundy, N. Rowling and 11. B. McGlashcn. On the motion of Messrs J. C. < Smith and J. Inglis, it was decided that, the cup fixtures commence on Saturday sth Ma v.
Resolved, (Messrs Spencer, Smith and the President) that admission io senior cup matches be gents 1/- and Indies free. Proposed by Mr N. Rowling and seconded by Mr H. Young, "that the senior competitions be of three rounds and a benefit match to be played at the end ol each round. Resolved (Mr J. C. Smith and S. E. Sibson) that the fixing of the junior and third class rounds be deferred until the next sub-union meeting. Moved by S. C. Smith and the President, "that the secretary and treasurer be empowered to operate on the bank account. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair.
