A suggestion to hold the funeral servico in Notre Dame or Madelaine was regatived in accordance with deceased's wish that it be held in her own parish church. Enormous crowds assembled in the Rue Royale 'and Rue Madelaine—the greatest since the armistice —to witness Sarah Earnhardt's funeral cortege, which was a kilometre long, including fifty Cll'l'lfl It is estimated that there were a million people along tho route. Ministers and other representatives of the Government walked in the procession. Diplomacy, literature, art and drama were also represented by prominent figures. ■Magnificent wreaths were sent, including many from English and American theatricals."
