MOTUEKA
METHODIST CHURCH PRESENTATION AND FAREWELL TO MINISTER (From Our Own Correspondent). The Rev. C. VV. Brown and Mrs Brown left Motueka on Monday for Auckland, where they will spend a fortnight's holiday before going south to Mosgiel. The Rev. Brown lias been Methodist minister in the Motueka district for the past four years, and has won the respect and regard of all his congregation by the way he has carried out his duties and the good work he has done. At a farewell social held in the church last week, a very large number of adherents were present to wish the Rev. and Mrs Brown success in their new sphere and to express regret at their departure. An address was delivered by the Rev. Ives (Church of England) and various members of the diffeient branches of the Church work spoke of what had been accomplished during the sojourn of the Rev. and Mrs Brown in their midst. Dining the evening Mrs J. E. Boyee and Mr R. IT. (.'raven contributed vocal items. The Rev. Brown was presented with a silver mounted umbrella and a cheque, and •Mrs Brown received a circular gold brooch inset with garnets. On Friday afternoon Mr and Mrs Brown were entertained to tea at. Mrs 1., ('osviiis bv members of the Ladies' Guild. The Rev. W. E. Sleep, from Nightcaps, where lie has been minister during a period of nine years, is taking up tin Motueka circuit.
