Paddon says that rowing is booming now and several matches were to be rowed off shortly.
A good many'people in New Zealand have been curious as to what Arnst has •been doing in Australia. The answer has been supplied bv Paddon in his letter when lie says that the ex-champion liar been training hard in anticipation of another race. Paddon, however, was vd eased that Hadfield had anticipated him. When lie reaches Sydney, Hadfield will be taken in band by George Towns, who will act as coach to the exchampion. Tt is still hoped that Paddon will consent to row'on the Paramatta, but from, the tone of his letter this appears to be hardly likely.
