FRANCE AND THE RUHR

Following insistent reports that Franco was preparing to invade the Ruhr Valley should Germany fail to meet the next reparations payment, the French; Embassy issued a statement denying that such action was contemplated. While the official declined to stale the reason it was indicated tlmt France’s reported decision had considerably influenced American action.
