A section of the Stove Moulders’ Union declared the strike off, and .is resuming af Metter’s «to-day on the 48hour week. Th© union secretary' stated that he was calling a mass meeting of the union to consider the position, as the Metter’s section was expected to break away at any time. Mr Verbrngghen communicated with the Conservatorium from the United States intimating that lie will resign the directorship .if his position' as conductor of the State Orchestra is not guaranteed.
