Hales, an important leader of irregulars in the south,- was captured at Upton Court with important documents •in his possession. Hales’s brother is a prominent member of the Provisional Parliament supporting the treaty. Am appeal lias been lodged in (he Childers case. CHILDERS "EXECUTED LONDON, Nov. 24. An official announcement states that Childers was tried by court-martial for having an automatic pistol in his possession without proper authority. He was found guilty and sentenced to death. The finding and sentence were duly confirmed and Childers was executed at 7 o’clock this morning. A CONSUL RESIGNS NEW YORK, Nov.'23, i Mr Joseph Connolly, Irish Free State Consul-General isnee May, lias resigned ;is a protest against the imprisonment of Mary MacSwiney and the recent execution of four adherents of the De Valera faction. He sailed for Dublin to exSlain his resignation to the Bail lireann.
