Attention is called to an advertisement in this issue of special prohibition meetings for this week-end. To-night a mass open-air meeting will lie addressed by Mr A. R. Atkinson, H.A., who is a barrister of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and president of the N.Z, Alliance. On Sunday evening in the Empire Theatre, Mrs Munroe, a Maori singer and orator, will speak with Mr Atkinson. Mrs Munroe’s ability to deal with the prohibition question is said to be above the average, and Sunday’s meeting is expected to be one ol the outstanding meetings of the campaign. The energetic folk of Brightwatcr are again on the war-path with a monster dance to raise funds for improving the entrance to the Hull prior to erecting the memorial gates, and it is hoped that their efforts will meet with the success it deserves. Mr Harold Williams and helpers are providing the music in their excellent manner, and the supper is in capable hands of thp Brightwatcr ladies.
The attention of jurymen, summoned for the ensuing sitting of the Supreme Court is drawn to the advertisement appearing in this issue.
