A MINORITY MEMBER.
(To the Editor) Sir, —Your correspondent, "lairPlaV. says the Massey Government are a minority party, -'lids is a favourite gag of Mr Atmorevs. As Mr Gilbert has explained in bis speech an attempt is m.u e bv the Liberal Party to show inis b> ti niggling with figures. Rut no juggling with figures can hide the fact that .b Atmoro is a minority member. He does not represent the majority of the electors of Nelson, and if there had been some better way of ascertaining the wishes of the electors of Nelson than the first past the post system, lie would not have been in Parliament during the last three years. At the last election the votes cast, against Mr Atmoro were 3804 and the votes east for him were 3293 So the majority of the Nelson (-lectors have not. been represented m Parliament during the last three years, i hey wdl have a chance to he represented at the coming election, when d will lie a straight-out tight instead oi the votes being split up amongst three candidates.—l am. etc., AN Ed,EL I Oil.
