The Arbitration Court’s award in the typographical dispute has been issued. It is a Dominion usvard for the year from November 27th and cannot be varied before May Ist next. Linotype day rates outside the cities are £5 Is, monotype £4 18s, other machines in towns under 7000 £4 11s; night workers 10 per cent, extra, with a minimum o» 10/-; casuals 3/- an hour and 3/6 for night work, with a bonus of l£d an hour until the Court decides otherwise. Probationers are to be paid £4 5s for day and £4 15s for night work ; by the hour 2/6 and 2/9. A week's work is 42 hours, with extra for overtime and double rates on Sundays and holidays.
