TICKET-SELLING DRIVE | A well-attended and enthusiastic meeting of ladies, presided over by the Mayoress (Mrs Lock) *was held in the Council Chambers last evening, for the purpose of organising a big ticket-selling “drive” in connection with the Sunny Nelson contest, for Thursday next, 16th inst. The Carnival secretary and several members of th& executive were, present and explained that the object of jibe "meeting was to get the ladies of Nelson interested in the'. Carnival. A strong working committee was active operations commence on Thursday morning next. Residents are asked to send their estimates in early, for in the event of a tie, the first estimate received gets the priae.
