AFTERMATH OF THE WAR

— ■ MEN IN NELSON HOSPITAL

One of the many sad features of the war is the recurrence of war disabilities and illness brought about by war service. There are at tire .present time several returned soldiers in the Nelson Hospital who have had to go there on account of recurrence of war disabilities or illness caused by war service. It is well that the •public should not forget these. The Hou. W. W. Snodgrass, speaking to a representative of The Mail, said this always appeared to him as one of the saddest features of tlie war. Fortunately, the Sick and Wounded Committee had administered the Fund with care owing to such cases arising ahd he was very glad to say they were in a position to assist in such cases. Pensions were, of course, provided for the families of men in hospital, but there were many contingencies that arose which the Fund was able to meet and make the burden a little lighter for those called upon to suffer so much. Mrs Watson was now the official visitor to the Hospital on behalf of the Fund. Mr Snodgrass said they were very fortunate in having returned soldiers such as Messrs W. 0, Harley, N. A. Vercoe and H. Saunders to take an important part in the administration.
