Tin; conference then proceeded to draw up a policy for carrying out the cammtign, in which it was stated that only a lighting policy will now avail workers in the struggle looming ahead. It is a vital necessity that the workers keep their hands untied and hold themselves in readiness to raise against any weapon that is or has been used against the workers by the employers. They need not go beyond that. The statement concludes: “Any union which breaks away from the united front is committing an act of black treachery to followunions. There must bo no ‘Black Friday’ in Australia. No stone must be loft unturned to ensure a united front and common policy against the employers’ attack on hours and the wages of workers.' 1
