THE SEDUCIN' SHIELD CHALLENGE FROM NELSON ACCEPTED BY MARLBOROUGH The secretary of the Nelson Rugby Union (Mr N. Vcrcoe) received a wire from the Marlborough Rugby Union accepting Nelsons challenge for a Sedclon Shield match to be played at Blenheim on 29th inst. Active preparations are now in hand for selecting the local representatives. POSSIBLES vf PROBABLES To-morrow afternoon a match will bo played at the Park between q Possible and a Probable team selected from the district under the jurisdiction of the Nelson Rugby Union, with tho object of selecting a team to send to Marlborough to endeavour to win the Scddon Shield. This match should be very interesting to those who follow the game closely, as they will be in a position to judge by following tho programme of events what can be done by our local talent when placed under such a good coach as Mr Clem Green, who has been scoured by the Citizens Committee. Every player will be striving to do his best‘on the chance of being included,in the Reps., consequently an exciting game is confidently expected. Tho Citizens’ Committee (if approved by the trainer) hope to arrange a match every Wednesday during tho training period, so as to give the public an opportunity of judging for themselves the progress that is being made with tho training. The gate, on these occasions will he ■ devoted towards training expenses.
