LONDON, July 3. The result of Hie fighting in Dublin to midnight gives evidence that the back of llie rebellion lias been broken. The rebels have been driven into a congested area 770 yards long, with a frontage to Saekville St reel, Margaret Street, and Parnell Square. Many more or less important positions have been captured m an enveloping movement. During an infantry attack the rebels exploded several mines. The civilian population is wholeheartedly assisting the .Free Statin's, many gals working day and night providing comforts for the troops. The rebels evacuated strongholds in Sackvilic Street. Five hundred wore captured. A GAOL HELD UP LONDON, July 2. A remarkable .story of tho seizure of a gaol by two men is reported from .Dundalk. Two men arrived at Dundalk on Saturday evening on a light engine from Drogheda and proceeded, to the prison, where- one guarded tho gate while the other, whom his companion addressed as commandant, held up the warders with a revolver in each hand. A warder, under threat of shooting, was compelled to release three prisoners, prominent irregulars whom Free Staters had captured at Drogheda on Monday. Leaving the warders locked up in a room the armed man released Hie, three prisoners and departed in the engine without opposition.
